Carmen Guerrero Design Studio
Schmidt Residence
This is a complete residential renovation of a 1,600 square feet house in Coconut Grove. The 1970’s original concrete block structure had been covered with layers of stucco and a variety of finishes. The design involved stripping these applied layers and restoring the original block aesthetic. The interior work complemented the exposed block aesthetic by re-organizing and exposing all the electrical and mechanical conduits. The renovation included the pool with its deck and a new landscape plan for the exterior. The existing flora on the site was cleaned up and new planting was added to enhance the existing tropical flora.
