Responsibilities included design and renovation of Calle Las Damas, a Renaissance period pedestrian street in the historic district of the city of Santo Domingo. Active involvement in the enforcement of the district’s building preservation codes.

TEACHING AREA & RECENT RESEARCH

Special courses on the architecture and urbanism of 20th century Italy. Focused research on Italian Rationalism has been exhibited and published internationally.

Current research on the Roman “palazzina” will be the topic for a special seminar and exhibit to follow in Italy.

Development and teaching of travel seminars concentrating on the role of regionalism in the design of contemporary architecture in both Italy and Switzerland.

Led a design studio course focusing on master planning proposals for the improvement of the historic fishing village of the town of Las Terrenas in the Dominican Republic.
