Carmen Guerrero Design Studio
Guerrero Residence
This project is an addition to an existing 1,800 square feet ranch style house. The scope of work includes demolition of 60% of the rear (north wall) of the 1950’s house requiring code compliance for the original structure. The new plan creates a 3,500 square feet residence using a u-shaped plan around an open atrium and a covered porch. The atrium is bordered by the family room and open kitchen on the west and a new master bedroom suite on the east. For the ceiling structure of these new areas scissor type trusses are used in order to gain maximum interior ceiling height. An entrance porch is added to the front façade along with a new paved driveway. The design includes a new landscape plan to enhance the architecture.
